Pyrite

Pyrite is one of those stones that has an elusive, but the alluring energy that entices anybody who comes near it. Though it’s referred to frequently as “Fool’s Gold,” it is indeed much more than a misinterpretation of the stone’s aesthetics.

Pyrite is a protective, shielding stone and is excellent to wear or carry as an amulet to deflect harm and danger. It is especially helpful when one is away from home or performing hazardous work. Pyrite guards against ongoing control, criticism and manipulation by a partner, parent or employer, lending the power to resist without becoming angry or upset, changing the balance of power.

A piece of Pyrite in the home or workplace energizes the area around it and imparts an immediate increase in vitality. It overcomes intellectual fatigue due to overwork and tiredness of the nervous system by stimulating blood flow to the brain, increasing mental clarity, focus and recall. 

Pyrite should not get wet. Because of the high iron content in pyrite, water that comes in contact with pyrite can cause it to rust or discolour and can lower the energetic vibration of it. It is best to keep pyrite dry and find other ways to energetically cleanse it. Some ways to do this is with smoke, salt, earth or visualizations. Other methods that should also be avoided are sun and heat.
